Green Juice with Parsley

I used to shy away from green drinks, thinking that they were going to taste terrible. In fact if you use something sweet as a base, green drinks can be quite delicious! Try mixing dark greens with apple, celery or cucumber juice to cut their bitterness. In this drink we use parsley, which is a very healthy herb. It’s got Protein, Vitamin E (Alpha Tocopherol), Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Pantothenic Acid, Phosphorus and Zinc, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Folate, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium, Copper and Manganese(*). It’s a great breath freshener, helps to purify and cleanse the blood and also aids with digestion.

What you’ll need (serves 2):

  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 3 lemons
  • 3 large apples
  • 6 sticks of celery

What to do:

  • Depending on the type of juicer that you have, you might need to put your greens through with something juicy such as celery. Just don’t juice the parsley last.
  • Stir with a spoon and enjoy.

When you get into the habit of using your juicer daily, green drinks are a powerful and healthy alternative to vitamin supplement pills or powders. These supplements are expensive and ultimately unnecessary. Juice daily and make sure to include plenty of vegetables (not just fruits). Once you create the habit, juicing becomes a fun (and nutritious) experiment to see what new delicious creations you can come up with. What’s your favorite way to eat parsley? Share below.
