I love this green smoothie first thing in the morning. It tastes great and will give you a kick to jump start your day. I used to be afraid of green smoothies, but the truth is, most greens don’t overtake the flavor of the smoothie. Try this green energy booster with fresh cilantro.

 

 

 

What you’ll need (serves 2):

  • 1 large bunch cilantro
  • 4 apples (juiced)
  • 3 lemons (juiced)
  • 1-2 tbsp honey or agave (to taste)
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Optional! Toss in a cup of fresh pineapple or other greens you have like kale or spinach. Mix and match to find your favorite combination!

What to do:

  • First run the apples and lemons through your juicer. Blending whole apples gives smoothies a grainy texture.
  • Toss everything into your blender and mix until smooth.
  • If you just finished a workout or it’s a hot summer day, blend in some ice cubes to make a refreshing cooler.

Adding greens to your drinks is an easy way to get more vegetables into your diet. Turn your smoothies into a powerhouse of vitamins and minerals. There is no replacement for green smoothies made with fresh veggies! You’ll feel great after drinking this.
